You're only charged when Draftboard surfaces a quality path: a real, credible way to reach someone through a connection who actually knows them. Quality paths cost 1 credit each, and a credit is $0.30 at the base rate (less if you buy credits in bulk — see the packages below). And it's capped per target — no matter how many quality paths we find to reach one person, you'll never pay for more than 3 (per teammate, if you're on a team).

Can my bill run away from me if you find a ton of paths to one person?

No. We cap it per target: no matter how many quality paths we find to reach one person, you're only ever charged for up to 3 of them — about $0.90 at the base rate. If we find ten great paths to your target, you still only pay for three. On a team, that cap is per teammate — each person who finds their own path to a target is capped separately.

What makes a path "quality"?

A path counts as quality when there's a real signal you could land the intro, not just a name showing up in your network. Think a shared employer, a shared school, or a strong mutual-connection history. Thinner paths — a single 2nd or 3rd degree connection with no shared context — are always free to see, they just don't have enough signal to charge for. About 2 out of 3 paths we find end up free.

Example A — 10 targets
10 targets × ~10 paths/target = ~100 total paths
~30% are quality paths = ~30 quality paths
30 × $0.30 = ~$9

Example B — 50 targets
50 targets × ~10 paths/target = ~500 total paths
~30% are quality paths = ~150 quality paths
150 × $0.30 = ~$45

These are directional estimates — actual results depend on how connected your team's network already is to the accounts you're targeting. And no single target can ever cost more than $0.90 per teammate — capped at 3 quality paths per person, no matter how many we find.
