How to Connect LinkedIn to Grok (Custom Connector Setup)

Grok added custom connectors on grok.com, and that quietly unlocked something useful: you can give Grok your professional network and ask it, in plain English, who can introduce you to the people you're trying to reach.

Here's the exact setup, verified on the live grok.com interface.

Why there's no direct integration

LinkedIn's official API keeps connection data away from third-party apps, so Grok can't see your network by itself. The way in is your network graph: Draftboard maps who you know and who they know, scores every relationship 0 to 100 with the reason behind the score, and serves that data over MCP. Grok queries Draftboard. It never touches LinkedIn.

Setup

1. Create a Draftboard account (free to start, 50 free credits) and stay signed in in your browser.
2. In Grok on the web (grok.com), open Plugins in the sidebar and stay on the Connectors tab.
3. Click New Connector, then choose Custom.
4. Paste the server address and save: `https://mcp.draftboard.com`
5. Approve the connection when your browser opens. No API key.

If you don't see a Custom option under Connectors, your Grok plan doesn't include custom connectors yet. Claude and ChatGPT take the same address: setup for every client is at draftboard.com/mcp.

What to ask once it's connected

Start with: "Use Draftboard to find warm introduction paths to [company]."

Then:

• "Who's my warmest path to [person]? What's the relationship behind it?"
• "Am I connected to anyone at [company], directly or through my team?"
• "Add these 15 prospects as targets and start the search."
• "What are my best intros to ask for right now?"

Every path comes back scored 0 to 100 with the evidence: "worked together at McKinsey for three years, ending two years ago." You see which ask is worth making before you spend a favor on it.

One expectation: results aren't instant on a fresh account. Draftboard maps your network in real time at a deliberately careful pace, so a big target list fills in over a day or two. Ask Grok to check back.
