Week 9 NFL Recap
It was blowout Sunday in the NFL with the biggest stomping courtesy of the Rams (who for the first time in years are on the right side of blowouts) as they topped the Giants 51-17. The Eagles also put up 51 points as they shredded what was supposed to be a good Denver defense. Jay Ajayi scored his first TD as an Eagle in the game, and put up his first double digit fantasy performance since week three.
After three straight disappointing weeks, T.Y. Hilton broke out in a major way, leading all players in fantasy scoring this week with 175 yards and two TDs. Another surprise this week was Corey Clement, who punched in three TD’s in the Eagles blowout. Alvin Kamara remained hot and led all RBs in fantasy points on a balanced 68/1 on the ground and 84/1 through the air.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, A.J. Green owners were treated to one reception and only six yards as his game was cut short due to a second quarter ejection. Doug Martin owners enjoyed a similarly disappointing outing as the running back rushed for just seven yards and is in jeopardy of losing his starting job to Peyton Barber. Will Fuller finally came back to earth as he ended his touchdown streak on Sunday. It’ll be interesting to see how much Watson’s absence continues to negatively affect Fuller’s value.
In our weekly Niners update, the red and gold are now just seven losses away from matching the Lions 2008 winless season. Let the countdown begin!
