✅ You’ll be responsible for
🔧 Direct Team Leadership: Guiding, mentoring, and directly leading a dedicated engineering team of four, ensuring their professional growth and project success.
🛠 Hands-on Technical Oversight: Staying hands-on with our tech stack. From reviewing code, and making pivotal architectural decisions, to even writing code to remain sharp and connected with the team's challenges.
🌐 Strategy & Vision Partnership: Collaborating closely with the CEO and engineering team to shape the technical vision, while also contributing insights to the broader business strategy.
🌟 Growth & Recruitment: Identifying hiring needs aligned with our business goals and spearheading the recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure our engineering team remains robust and dynamic.
📈 Effective Project Management: Working in tandem with the Product Manager to ensure projects are well-scoped, efficiently executed, and proactively communicated. This includes planning, estimating, and navigating research spikes all the way to delivery.
🤖 Tech Stack Autonomy: Taking full charge of decisions related to our technology stack, tools, and platforms, ensuring Breadboard stays on the cutting edge of innovation.
⚙️ Operational Excellence: Recognizing areas of improvement proactively, driving process enhancements, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and evolution within the engineering department.
🚀 Versatile Experience: Your trajectory is crucial. We value those who started as an Individual Contributor (IC) engineer and climbed the ladder to leadership/management roles. This indicates you've seen and understood both the granular and the big picture, blending hands-on technical mastery with exemplary team management.
🔧 Tech Proficiency: Our tools are specific, and we need you to wield them expertly. While having experience with our tech stack (Typescript, React, NestJS, Elasticsearch, AWS, etc.) is an advantage, it's more important that you've thrived in environments with workflow and data-intensive web applications. Dive into any tech challenge and guide the team with confidence.
